What is the nature of a "good" marriage or relationship? What aspects of Aylmer's and Georgiana's relationship are good?

a good relation must have honesty and love. both of the significant others must feel the same about each other and know that they can trust each other. Aylmer and Georgiana's relation is good because she constantly tells him how smart he is, and he constantly tell her how beauftiful she is. they complement each other and feel strongly for the other.

I truly believe that both Alymer and Georgianna think they're doing the right thing to make each other happy. Alymer really thinks he's helping his wife. Clearly he's delusional, but I do think he believe he's doing the right thing to make her happy- and she, of course, is trying to make him happy too.
Maybe that's what makes a good relationship- doing what you can to make the other happy.

Georgiana is willing to change her appearence for her husband and is o.k. with doing so, but in a way does anyone think that Almer might be kinda selfish because he thinks her birthmark is appauling? Marriage is a fairly permanent relationship that should go beyond physical appearance. It should be based on your complatibility, personality, equality, and trust. Georgiana displays trust when she agrees to let her husband operate on her and change her physical appearance, which she had no problem with before. Aylmer's need to change his wife is ridiculous. It shows that he married her for purely shallow reasons and since she listens to him, it shows that she married him for opposite reasons. It's not a healthy relationship if you constantly pressure the other person to change the way they are, in any way possible, and if the other's opinion has such great effect on you that you faint and shudder at the thought of being judged by your partner.

They both have an unconditional passionate love for one another, however, Alymer is rather unconfortable with Georgiana's birthmark. You see, relationships are based upon honesty, confort,loyalty, compatability, and finally love. It seems as though Georgiana and Alymer show some of these characteristics but confort. Alymer gets unconfortable every time his eyes take a hold on that single figure, and then Georgiana gets rather unconfortable with how much he despises it.
