How do you see/feel about the Algonquin Student Drivers? How do you think the faculty feels about them?
"I think it depends on who it is. Algonquin student drivers are good. As long as they are not dumb, they are fine. I think the faculty feels the same way. They keep a close eye on things."
- Lucy Drake, Junior
"I think it's 50/50. There are some extremely responsible drivers and there are some reckless ones. Algonquin has learned from past mistakes. Laughton sees us as horrible drivers. If he saw us as responsible drivers then he wouldn't be so harsh on parking policies."
- Steve Neivert, Senior
"Faculty sees Algonquin students drivers as non trust worthy. Laughton is always outside with the radar gun. They think we try to get away with everything we do which is why we're only given one chance to screw up. I feel like Algonquin drivers know what they're doing."
- Ben Lima, Senior
"Algonquin student drivers are reckless. The faculty sees them as irresponsible."
- Jeremy Richard, Senior
School starts at 7:20 a.m. How do you feel about this? If school started a little bit later, do you think you'd do better? Why?
"I would do a lot better. I can't do anything at 7:20, nevermind waking up, driving to school, try to learn and pay attention."
- Steve Neivert, Senior
"7:20 is too early because I hate getting up in the morning. I think if school started later, it would give us a chance to rest and get more ready if we need to."
- Renee Roy, Freshman
"Depends. Because if it starts earlier, you could get out earlier.. you would have more time to do things. It's annoying at the same time because you want to fall asleep during first period."
-Matt Handford, Senior
"I think I would do better in school because I would have more rest and I would be more alert in class."
-Ben Lima, Senior
Lucy Drake
“I think it depends on how fast you are going. If it’s about 10 miles per hour over the speed limit, its necessary, but 2-3 it’s ridiculous.” Junior Jillian Hubley said Tuesday
“I think it’s an over reaction on the faculties part, because its sometimes by mistake. It’s kind of abusing their privileges.” Senior Ben Lima said.
“I think they should hand out detentions instead of fines because that has to do with the school.” Junior Marie Anderson said when asked what she thought about the Algonquin Administration’s new parking policies.
Freshman Renee Roy thought it was fine for Algonquin’s Administration to hand out parking tickets and fines because she thinks, “It keeps the students safe, because they might not be responsible enough”
How do you feel about the upper school office's new location?
1. “I feel as if it is too far away from the rest of the school and it causes students to be even more late than they already are, which causes students to miss valuable class time.”
- Jeremy Richard, grade 12
2. “I think that it’s way too far away for students to make it there.”
-Brian Dalton, grade 12
3. “I think the upper school office is a more appropriate place, it is right in the middle of everything, so it’s easy to find.”
-Ben Lima, grade 12
4. I think it’s really inconvenient because upperclassmen have to go there, making them even more late because it is so far across the school.”
-Jill Hubley, grade 11

What is your opinion on homerooms? Do you believe they are neccissary?
"I personally think that homeroom is pointless, the only thing that happens is attendance and that could be taken in first period."
--James Fischetti, senior
"I think it's an unneccissary part of school and it takes away from students's much needed passing time."
--Brian Dalton, senior
"I really don't like them because it takes out six minutes of our day but it also helps because it keeps us from skipping class."
--Lucy Drake, junior
"I think it's a good idea because kids wont be able to skip first period but it seems the administration is starting to lack trust in us."
Jill Hubley, junior
my question is, why are the school busses yellow.
brian dalton said, "because there verry large and full of kids"
Jill hubly said, they stand out.
marie anderson said, giggle giggle.no idea

What are your feelings on the new surveillance system at Algonquin?
"as long as you stay out of trouble you'll be fine."
-Matt Handford, Senior
"I feel that the amount of cameras is unnecessary and their main purpose is to intimidate."
-James Fischetti, Senior
"I think its kinda annoying. I dont like all eyes watching me. They have way too many cameras anyways"
-Lucy Drake, Junior
"I think they asre unnecessary and inappropriate and they infringe on students' rights. They should ahve spent the money on something else."
-Brian Dalton, Senior

How does the new access road effect Algonquin students?
"I think that it plays a big role in alleviating the traffic in and out of school"- Brian Dalton, Senior
"The access road helps improve the traffic flow to a certain degree. I think you should be allowed to take left hand turns." - Steve Nievert, Senior
"Well not being allowed to take a left turn is stupid. I think a lot of people will take a right and just take an immediate left so they might as well make a left turn" -Jill Hubley, Junior
"The prob;e, os though if you wanted to make a left turn onto the new access road you could'nt because you would have to go down Bartlett Street to the front enterance" - Matt Handford
